This Sunday at 2pm, I’ll be giving a talk at Shoreline Library as a part of their “Crazy for Comics” Graphic Arts Festival. Come one come all!

In the Media: the Seattle Times wrote an article about Free Comics Day (today) and included a paragraph about my presentation at Shoreline, and included a photo of me (taken by Kelly O, in front of a Port-A-Potty).

The Johnsonville Press, in honor of April 20 (that’s 420, stoners), asked if they could post “How to Smoke Pot and Stay Out of Jail.” I consider that comic to be my Public Service Announcement – one friend and a few strangers have told me I saved their asses. How great is that?

Neko Case’s cover looks a lot like my cover! Even the pose is about the same. But she has a sword, and I have LED ZEPPELIN. I win!

After class this evening Jessica, one of my students at Cornish College of the Arts, showed me her rough sketch for the next assignment, and asked if I wanted an Oreo. “No, thanks.” We talked about the character she’d drawn (”a tough exterior but she’s sweet, how might that play out?”) and she offered me an Oreo again. “No, no thanks.” Then soon a third time, “Are you sure you don’t want an Oreo?” Uh… no?

Turns out she’d filled the one she was offering with toothpaste. Happy April Fool’s Day! She said she’d done the same thing to classmate Luke, and he took a bite, but he then liked it and ate the whole thing.
