For the more recent past, Google handily has a whole bunch of Black Belt magazines online. Although the quality has really gone down (lots of dodgy Dillman ads, for a start) it did use to host columns by both Royce and Rickson, along with some fascinating reactions to the first UFCs and the initial influx of Gracies to the US.

I knocked up a spreadsheet to act as an index for all the BJJ related stuff, here.
